TJM Associates are one of Europe’s leading creators of conceptual garden events.
We pioneered the UK’s first conceptual garden festival at Westonbirt which ran for 36 months and attracted 120,00 visitors annually.
Currently, we are charged with delivering the conceptual designer gardens for Future Gardens which opens on June 5th 2009 at St Albans, Hertfordshire. The twelve designer gardens will offer a rare chance to experience a totally fresh way of thinking about how conceptual gardens and garden design can work hand in hand to enhance our fragile environment.
The dynamic of the Future Gardens Creative Brief is to challenge traditional concepts, to look again at how we perceive gardens, art and nature. Designers were asked to consider the fragility of the environment, and to express this in their design. This has resulted in a remarkably diverse series of gardens.
TJM is also responsible for launching the Cottesbrooke Hall Plant Finders Fair. This event champions the showcase for respected, smaller, specialist nurseries exhibiting unusual plants at reasonable prices, and producers of outstanding products and paraphernalia for the garden.
Now in its second year and held in association with the prestigious magazine BBC Gardens Illustrated, the Cottesbrooke Plant Finders Fair was described in The Times as one of three ‘must see’ garden Fairs (alongside the legendary Courson in France, and Bingerden in Holland.)
In the words of Cleve West, writing in The Independent in 2009: “The spirit of Courson has arrived in the UK – resistance is futile.”
